The 2nd craziest thing I saw on PBS this weekend
You might think a bunch of flamingos dancing together was as good as it got on PBS this weekend. You would be wrong. I was watching the Lawrence Welk Easter special and these 2 women came out in bunny costumes and danced, pranced and sang "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" in front a background that could only be described as early 70's psychedelic. It took Maria an hour to talk me out from under the bed. I couldn't find the video on youtube, so I'm still not sure if the whole thing was a flashback or not.

Hoops
I have tickets for the Greensboro games in the NCAA tournament. As much as I'd like to watch 4 games in 1 day, I couldn't find anyone to go to the Thursday night games. I figured I could unload the tickets on some Duke fan I know, but it turns out I don't know any Duke fans. I'm not sure what that says about me. However, I do know a guy from Minnesota who asked me about extra tickets. Not only did I sell my tickets, but I sold them to someone who doesn't like Duke (although he probably won't stick around for that game). StubHub need to offer some kind of option to sell your seats but not your allegiance.

Super Bowl Predictions
Ok, there's a big difference b/w what I would like to see and what will actually happen. I think it will look like this: Born In The USA, a new song (I'll guess The Wrestler b/c it's new, I haven't heard it, and it would nice of him to remind me to go see the movie), Promised Land (w/ a speech like Bill Simmons crafted before the song except it will be about Obama), and my lead pipe lock of the week, Born To Run. What I'd like to see is Rosalita for 25 minutes.

Merry Xmas
I thought this version of White Christmas was worth sharing. I heard it driving around at night which makes all music better.

I watch PBS so you don't have to
Imagine my surprise to learn that Judy Woodruff is a big fan of Saturday Night Live. That's what she said (heh, heh) in Lorne Michaels and Seth Myers appearance on the News Hour last week. However, the fact that these two were guests on the News Hour only 5 days before the election would qualify as a bigger surprise. They didn't cite any polling numbers or provide any insight into field operations in battleground states, but if you think PBS is about dry, tempered, reasonable analysis you would only be right 99% of the time.

Early Voting
Today at lunch time I went to vote early except the line was at least an hour long. I walked in behind a guy who I followed down the hall, to the right, into the gym, and back around to the front door (the line in the gym was as long as the line through the hallways). This guy told me he had been on Sunday, Monday, and now Tuesday at the same polling site and the line was at least that long everyday. I'll try again next week, but voting on election day seems like it might be pretty reasonable. I'll keep you posted.
