Past, Present, and Future of TV

I saw the appropriately titled The Dark Side about Dick Cheney's role in the war on terror last night. Did you know Iraq was the reason for 9/11 attacks. Sure it's been discredited that they played any role in the attacks, but that doesn't mean they weren't the reason for them. You can watch the full program online (about 85 minutes) starting Thursday. Richard Clarke comes out smelling like a rose, but that can be attributed to him agreeing to be interviewed for the program. There are lots of people interviewed who hold the title ex-CIA important dude. That should give you an idea of the decisions the Bush administration has made about using intelligence gathered by professional spooks when an entire program is filled w/ people who quit their jobs b/c their work was marginalized by the decision makers who were supposed to use it.

ESPN Classic will re-air the US vs Ghana match on Thursday at 5pm. I guess DVR and Tivo make this unnecessary for lots of people, but I plan on forcing my kids to watch it anyway.

Caught up in the whirl of Stanley Cup fever, Dave had the idea to have a reality show that follows the exploits of the Stanley Cup when players get their day w/ it. I thought an even better idea would be to have a sitcom w/ the same premise. Of course Dave and I will play the guys in charge of handling the cup and we're working on getting Norm MacDonald doing his Burt Reynolds impersonation to play our overbearing boss. If there are 2 things that will get tv executives exicted about this ratings gold it's the comedy stylings of Norm MacDonald and another chance to have hockey related programming on tv. Don't worry I'll still talk to you when I'm a big UPN star.
