Recent Live Sporting Events

Desmond and I went to the US Men's National team game against Jamaica in traffic challenged Cary, NC. While we missed both goals b/c we were waiting to park, we did see some good soccer. The game was sold out w/ 8000+ fans there and at least 3 or 4 others watching on ESPN2. Two nights later we went to a Grasshoppers game that had 2000 more people in attendance. How, you ask, can a single A baseball team draw more fans than the United States of America's men's national soccer team. The popularity of baseball vs soccer in this country? Nope. A smaller soccer stadium? Not really, the Grasshoppers list their capacity at a little less than 8000 just like SAS stadium. For all you marketing executives, the answer is $1 draft beer. Feel free to use that for your event, but make sure you let me know a couple of days in advance.
